18 Tips to Grow Your Business!
April Hiatt
Wise Women Founder
One of the best ways to grow your business is by building real relationships with others... including others in similar industries. Attend events and get to know people so they can refer you. Look for referral partners with those that have complementary. Get to know your current clients and ask for referrals.
The real key to growing your business is taking the time to get to know others and letting them get to know YOU. This way you don't have to do all the work... others will refer you for your services. "Building connections is not always about a business relationship... often, it's about feeling positive energy, a good vibe with someone, feeling included and supported, and building a true friendship. These genuine connections lead to referrals, trust, information, introductions, and new friendships in your life as you need them."

Branding vs Marketing Tips

Hey! I’m Sara, your brand strategy bestie. Before shifting into brand development, I spent eight years as a hairstylist and worked directly under the owners of both a salon and a separate wellness spa. That experience gave me a deep understanding of what actually drives client trust and long term growth in the beauty industry. In the age of social media being our business cards, here are a few things that help draw people into your world and hit that "Schedule Now" button.
Your bio is often the first place clients decide whether to keep scrolling or book with you. This simple three part formula helps your profile support your business instead of getting lost in the feed. Give clients a direct way to book, state your specialty clearly, and use one or two focused hashtags that attract the right people. When your bio is clear, everything else you post becomes more effective.
Got a question about your brand? Let's chat. You can schedule a free virtual coffee chat with me, genuinely no pressure or awkward sales pitches. https://www.i-before-e.com/
All my best,
Sara Mecham

Find My Beauty Pro is a complementary platform sponsored by Adelaide Salon Systems, created to connect beauty professionals with clients who are actively searching for their services. The goal is to give independent stylists, salon owners, and beauty professionals increased visibility without the cost or overwhelm of traditional advertising. By joining the directory, professionals position themselves within a trusted network that highlights skilled, reputable service providers in their area. Beginning in 2026,, beauty professionals will also be able to pursue specific certifications throughout the United States to become Adelaide Certified. This credential will provide elevated visibility, special highlights, and additional recognition on the Find My Beauty Pro website. In addition to the directory itself, Find My Beauty Pro maintains a strong Instagram presence designed to bridge the gap between beauty professionals and potential clients by answering frequently asked questions, myth busting, and sharing tips that support smooth appointments from booking through follow up. To be featured on the Find My Beauty Pro social media pages, beauty professionals simply need to tag @FindMyBeautyPro in their work. While not every tagged post will be shared, all tags are reviewed and considered for spotlights, features, and educational examples. Joining the complementary directory increases visibility and ensures you are part of a reputable network that clients trust when searching for beauty services. You can join the complementary directory here: https://www.adelaidesalonsystems.com/fmbp/6
A Few Quick Tips You Can Use Today:
• Optimize one service highlight on your profile. Choose your highest-value or most in-demand service and make sure your bio, your last three posts, and your pinned content clearly communicate that service. This instantly helps the algorithm understand your niche and increases the quality of clients who find you. • Create a simple system for client-generated content. Ask every satisfied client to tag you, leave a Google review, or post their transformation on their Story. Even a 20 percent participation rate will double your reach with almost no effort. If you would like help refining your niche, building your marketing systems, or turning content into consistent appointments, I am happy to schedule a follow up call to go deeper.

CONNECTION CREATES CUSTOMERS
In-person events aren’t just fun — they create lifetime clients. Customize Your Invite: If you have an email list, take a few extra seconds to personalize it. Even if you’re copy-pasting the base email, start with something like, "Hey Jessica! We haven’t seen you in a while and I wanted to personally invite you..." or "Hey Ang! After our last conversation, I think you’ll love this upcoming event!" Be attentive. Be social. Don’t chase the sale. Focus on the customer — their wants, their needs — and offer real solutions from a place of connection. ---
EVENTS AREN’T JUST PARTIES
You don’t need a grand opening or holiday to host an event. Events can be anything that adds value to your customers and community! Product Launches Customer Appreciation Events Employee Celebrations Educational Experiences VIP Sneak Peeks (Anything that makes your people feel special.) ---
THE 5 LOVE LANGUAGES — IN BUSINESS
Everyone feels appreciated differently. Bring a little of each love language into your event to create a memorable experience for all: Acts of Service: Hosting the event itself is a gift of your time and effort! Gifts: Never underestimate the power of a swag bag or a free sample. Quality Time: Offer workshops, consultations, or hands-on experiences. Physical Touch: In beauty and wellness industries, demonstrations that involve touch can build trust and connection. Words of Affirmation: Kick things off with a short welcome speech — a warm introduction, genuine appreciation, and a quick guide to the day's fun.
TIPS FOR BEAUTY-BASED EVENTS Want to make your beauty event unforgettable? A few small touches go a long way:
Offer mini services: Brow shaping, mini facials, quick consultations, or 5-minute makeup tutorials let guests experience your magic firsthand. Create Instagrammable moments: A cute photo wall, beauty-themed props, or a glam selfie station encourages guests to snap and share. Showcase new products: Set up a "try it out" station where guests can sample the latest skincare, cosmetics, or haircare — with expert guidance. Exclusive event-only specials: Offer a service package or product bundle that's only available to attendees (people love feeling like VIPs). Hands-on demos: Live tutorials showing techniques like curling, contouring, or skincare layering not only educate but also build trust. Take-home touch: Send them off with a little something — a sample, discount card, or beauty tip sheet to keep your brand top of mind.

5-Minute Game-Changer: Optimize Your Google Business Profile (GBP)
by Josh Talley – King Me Digital | www.kingmedigital.com
If you want more customers when potential clients search “hair salon near me” or “lash extensions in [your city],” then your Google Business Profile (GBP) needs to be your #1 marketing tool period.
Set up or log into your GBP and update every section — especially your services list. Add detailed, keyword-rich descriptions under each service (ex: “Volume Lash Extensions in St. George, Utah – lightweight, fluffy lashes customized to your eye shape”). Google uses this info to rank you higher in local search results.
Bonus Power Move:
Upload fresh photos weekly (before & afters, workspace, product shots), and post quick updates or promos. Google rewards active profiles — and active profiles get more clicks, calls, and bookings.
Take 15-30 minutes a week to do this and you’ll start showing up in the right searches — without spending a dime on ads.
